WA's top 11 AFL Draft prospects in 2025
Because picking 10 was just too obvious a number.
G’day friends. We’re two weeks out from the 2025 AFL draft. First round is Wednesday November 15, the rest are picked the following night, then rookies on the Friday.
Last year 10 West Australians were picked up by AFL clubs. The year before was 14.
Predictions from WA Football estimate this year’s number to be around the 8-12 mark.
To be honest, it’s a bit of a weird draft. But trying to predict how strong it will be long-term is a fool’s game. And our New Year’s resolution this year was to be less foolish.
So what we’ve done is narrow down the 11 WA prospects we think are the strongest chances of ending up on an AFL list (odds are GWS or someone will pull a player from left field and make us look like chumps anyway).
There’s also four West Coast academy or father-son prospects, which is a good sign but also a delicate thing to manage from a list perspective.
Expect more in-depth profiles to drop over the next couple of weeks, as flagged earlier on Monday, and keep an eye on the WAFL social accounts, where we’re rolling out a video series thanks to Tyrepower WA.
