G’day people! Bit of a different one for you today.
When we started Jumper Punches we wanted to highlight and celebrate people contributing at all levels of WA footy.
That typically wouldn’t include the coach of the Allies and Tasmania U18 sides.
However, in this case the fella holding both those roles is a former Perth Demon who is creating a new pathway for aspirational young coaches in Western Australia.
His name is Scott Moore and this is the story of how and why he ended up being the man charged with harnessing Tassie’s young talent.
This one is for paid subscribers, who are a rare class of football fan and have access to extra features and early access to events, including one in the works around the AFL Draft which will be announced very shortly.
Let’s get stuck in.
In Jaymie Graham’s first press conference as North Melbourne coach he used a phrase you hear a lot from modern coaches.
“Players don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
Ask around and it’s a philosophy people link closely with the little-known West Australian coach helping shape the future of the Tasmanian Devils.
Scott Moore played three senior WAFL games for Perth, won a PFL A-Grade flag with Trinity-Aquinas, and is considered one of the brightest young coaches to come through our State’s ranks in recent years.
