If you like WA footy, this newsletter will make your life easier
Because more football media is just what the world needs right now.
Welcome to Jumper Punches.
This newsletter isn’t for everyone. It’s for the WA football tragics. My kind of people.
The idea is simple, every week it will hit your inbox breaking down the key things to know about Fremantle and West Coast’s AFL and AFLW sides, the WAFL, WAFLW, the WA talent pathway, and PSA and other school footy from the weekend just gone.
It’s unashamedly about what happens on the field, with opinion at a minimum and reporting at a premium.
And that news will be delivered short and sharp - hence the name, get it?
If you want to go deeper, we’ll point you in the right direction. Jumper Punches isn’t trying to replace where you already get your footy news, it’s complementary.
It’s also going to be unapologetically optimistic, because that’s something else that can sometimes be in short supply.
A lot of the content will be free, but a certain amount will sit behind a paywall. For $7 a month you’ll get monthly features, deeper grassroots reporting and guest columns as well. That subscription will also get you access to the comment section, where you’ll be able to participate in Q&As and have a genuine say in the direction of this project. Eventually you’ll also have access to events, merch and a lot more as part of the Jumper Punches community.
All that for about half the price of a bucket of chips at Optus Stadium.
A bit about me… I spent more than 15 years as a sportswriter and editor, I co-host The Hard Ball Gets AFL Show podcast, and now I help brands and sports with content and commercial strategy at Playbookx.
I genuinely love talking about WA footy at every level, and if you’re reading this I’m guessing you do too.
Let’s get stuck in.
